I was wondering if any nanocube owners could recomend a replacement pump for the stock unit in the nano cube twelve? I think its weak and wonder if anyone out there has had luck fitting another unit back there. I already have the fission skimmer back there, so room may be an issue, but I would saccrifice skimming for better circulation anyday.

Thanks

Not sure about the Nano cube, but in my Aquapod 12 I swapped it for a Maxijet 900 with no problem.

Get a Mini-jet 404 or 606 (Aquarium Systems). Either will replace the stock pump, and they're very quiet. I have both in the back of my 12g Nanocube. One should suffice as the replacement, but I wanted extra flow.

dont use a minijet. they just dont create enough flow.

I have a 12g nano-cube and i put a maxijet 900 in place of the stock return pump. there is no problem with size, you just pop the old pump off, put the maxijet on and away you go.

Mini-Jet 606 works perfect in chamber number 3.

Sounds as though most recomend the maxi jet 900 if your using the hydro flow. What do they retail for?

My Hydor was about 9.99 from Foster and Smith.
The Maxijet was maybe $14 or so?
I got them both from F&S.

You guys happy with the hydor and the MJ900 combo? I have it on my 20g tank and the output seems a little weak. The rotation is nice, though......

Just installed the maxi jet 900 with the hydro in my NC 12, excellent results. Much greater rotation than stock, and the corals and anemones are reaching out further I assume due to increase circulation. Thanks all
