Champion Lighting has a note on their page for replacement bulbs that 65 watt bulbs can be used with CSL 55 watt ballasts. Has anyone tried this? The retrofit kit I bought came with a 55w smartlight, but I want to change it out for a 65w 10k bulb.

Oh, and I'm selling the 55w smartlight bulb here:

Yes, you can do so. In all actuality, if you have a CSL hood setup the ballast in the hoods tends to be a workhorse variety. When I pulled my old 30" 65w setup apart, I found a Workhorse 7 which when wired correctly will and did fire a 96w bulb on my wifes FW tank before it was taken down.
