How do you keep the salt from building up on the light bulbs. I have my PC's 4" away from the water and they accumulate so much salt on the bulbs. The water isn't splashing on them at all.

Nothing you can really do, just try to clean them everyother to keep it down and from ruining the lights.

the only thing to stop it, would be a glass top

My lights have a glass shield clipped to the bottom---came from the factory this way, so I don't know what kind of glass. It could be done, however.
One thing worth worrying about is what happens when a chunk of salt breaks off and falls straight onto a coral: that's not a good thing.

I clean the sand build up on my Light fixture about every 3 weeks to help it stay clean other than thatmy tank is open but been looking into maybe putting egg crate in but not sure yet...

My fixture came with an acrylic shield. Real easy to wipe off about every other week. Perhaps you could retro one up?
