We would like to say that we are honored to have our tank featured a the first Nano Tank of the month, and a big thank you to Reef Central.
Â*This tank is about a year and half old and pound for pound has more life in it than pretty much any tank I have seen. It has been seeded with Flora and Fauna packages from both www.ipsf.com and www.inlandaquatics. There are tons of Spaghetti worms, Bristle worms, Micro Stars, Mini Brittle stars, and lots of pods. The Macros in the tank are numerous, there is Sargassum, 4 types of Culerpa, Halmidia, and many others I don't have an i.d. on.

We had an Aiptasia problem a while back so we got a couple of Peppermint Shrimp to clean up. Well they took care of the Aiptasia but then turned to other things so we had to take them out. There was a population of no less than 40 Cap Snails ( Stomatella Vari) that the shrimp totally wiped out and they had their share of Bristle worms also. The shrimp are gone but while they were in the tank 1 did happen to release several hundred babies.
IME shrimp are NOT reef safe as they tend to feed constantly on whatever is available.

Photoperiod is about 10 hours a day and we do a 1 gallon water change weekly. We do not put any additives in the tank at all, haven't really seen a need for it yet. I think a large part of the success of this tank is dew to the Macro Algae. We are constantly having to trim them.
Â*This tank pretty much speaks for itself, and it is really nice having it at work where we can look at it all day.
