One of my power heads fell down next to my hydnophora and the current blew one side white. Now alage has formed on that side. I am wondering if it will be ok or do I need to frag the 6 good areas? It's a beautiful piece a flourescent yellow/green and would hate to lose it. :worried:

Assuming the coral isn't compromised by the damage, it should be able to survive. It can eventually re-grow over the damaged area's, so it's not neccessary to frag the animal if it's healed and not experiencing any further stress.

Not to be discouraging, but I did something just like that to my hydnophora. Blew the flesh right off it and within days, it was dead. I'd frag and try to save the rest. Then again, what do I know. I think blue damsels are pretty.

I wouldn't frag it.I used to prefer white damsels, but now blue ones will do.;)

I wouldn't frag it. If your tank is healthy it will come back in no time. I've had it happen a couple of times and it always comes back.
