On a random ebay surf I noticed car lamps with a temp of 12000K.

Expensive with ballast etc, but has anyone considered these as an option for nanos/picos? Really small lamps, no idea about heat.

Lots of other places sell them, 600K-12000K with varying prices.

It has a halogen bulb... I'm not positive, but I believe people have tried using halogen bulbs with similar color temps and have no success.... You could always be a guinea pig though. BTW Ultra Violet kinda scares me...

I just use $4 magnetic ballast's from lowes with a 13W PC, got 4 of them over my 2.5, works great. Only drawback is the bulkyness of it.

Whoa,Those HID lights seem sort of expensive to be practical to me... even 70watt halides would be better i think
