Just wondering if this is something worth buying and using for the next year.

I have seen tanks with them they look good i was considering them. b-spinner has them and they looked sweet on his tank and i think that is all he runs no vho or nothing if i remember right he lives in fort collins mabey you can get a hold of him and check out his tank it is sweet.
he has a 180 and i think he had 4of them over it nice it is always good to see them in person.

he is running 2 vho bulbs, but i like xm and his do look great, i just reordered my bulbs last week because my corals were becoming less colorful.

Hi Ian,
I am using 4-400watt XM's with 8-110 watt vho actinic. I really like the look. A little off the subject, give me a call, I need an electrician.

Im no electrician. Only have done the dedicated line. Not to code by any means. PM me what you are looking to do and Ill let you know if I can do it.

I still want to see your tank. I havent seen it since you set it up.

Ian,

the bulbs look good but much of it is preference. I personally like the crisp white/blue look. The only thing to make sure of is the bulbs are not the Chinese ones.

Ian,

just ask MD. They will know. My guess is they are not. Personally I had no idea there was a difference until I bought some due to a good price. Almost immediately I could see a difference within the tank, corals hated it, but took me a while to figure it out.

Hey Ian,

I am running 4 400 watt Xm 20k's and 2 160 watt VHO actinic bulbs over my 180. I have had great luck with them, good color and the growth is faster than I can keep up with. You are more than welcome to come check it out sometime.

i would like to come up and check out your tank next time im in fort collins vikebron if your down!

and b-spinner... that purple tri-color frag i got from you fell behind my rocks and i think its gone forever... so that sucks, next time im up hopefully i can get another frag from you and maybe some of your teal acro that I liked so much...

go blue its good for you....

dj ian, i always say that blue is for show and white is for grow, so it all just depends on your goal for your tank, i still need to come see ya spin sometime, and your always welcome to check out my production set-up at my house. (and the tanks of course too)
