Lip of over flow to top of tank, question?

Hi all,
I have the lip of my internal over flow 1 inch from the rim of the tank, do you think that there is enough space, I have a fish only set up so I have glass tops , no heavy lighting systems.
Do you think that is enough space?

enough space for what? As long as your return pump doesn't pump more than your overflow can handle, set that puppy as high or low as your heart desires.
