I am picking up my 12g aquapod tomorrow morning. I was curious if anyone was able to mod thier pod to accept a hang on skimmer? I would like to run my prizm on this tank. I know its not the best skimmer but mine works fine. Would this be possible? Some how? Seeing how the prizm has an external pump? Anyone able to do this with any other skimmers?

Thanks

You would have to take the hood off - kind of defeats the purpose of the whole nanocube concept. Check out CurrentUSA's fusion skimmer. It's tiny (will fit in the back of the NC12) and considering the $30 price tag, folks seem to like it. HTH

I have the fission nano skimmer in my jbj 12 DX. Works well IMO. They were made for the aquapods though. Many have problems with the amount of micro-bubbles they produce but its and easy fix. Great addition for the $ IMO.

Just curious how to fix this?...I have a 10g AGA and was considering this skimmer, but my friends that have it are fed up with the bubbles so I have held off. Thanks

If you have a sump to place it in then reducing the micro-bubbles shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you plan on placing it in your display I'd forget about it or only run it at night.

I also am having trouble fitting this skimmer in the back of my 12 gal nano cube. I was under the impression this would fit in the back sump area, but can't seem to get it in there. I don't have room in the display area for it. Anyone got a fix?

4. I didn't know there were different models when I got this a couple of years ago. My nest tank will be perfect, my next tank will be perfect...

Thats why I refuse to get the fission skimmer. I hate micro bubbles from the start. Maybe the remora will be the one to get when it comes out. I have seen a guy run a prizm on his 12dx but he hasn't posted any pictures of how he did it. I have a prizm on my son's 10 nano and it works fine for a nano. On a larger tank forget it. I think if it pulls some stuff out of a nano that you do frequent water changes on its doing ok in my opinion.. But to run a prizm to avoid water changes NO NO NO...
