so is my 4.5 too small for a swimming fish?

IMO yes. You might be able to do a little goby or something. Might want to look into sexy shrimp. They are cool little guys for small tanks. 2 cents

I'd say yes, I've got a 12g Dx with just coral. No fish

5gallon pico, ocellaris clown and a dory fish... not sure. I also want to get a frogfish. I heard they walk around.

but anyway, my 5 g pico has live rock and some pods running around.

my 32 gallon has 2 ocellaris, 1 flame angel, 1 blackray goby, 1 randalli goby. Since the gobies are small, the tank isn't too badly polluted. No outbreaks of algae in a long time. Weekly water changes. Ideally I'd only keep 3 fish.

Nitrox,

Does your YWG "dig" much in your tank? They are good looking fish but I only planed on a 2" LS bed and thought I read they would be happier with more than that. Maybe I am confusing it with another fish.

No fish in my soon to be 12dx but thinking about a clown or maybe a fairy wrasse.

lol of course. i only have LR and pods and some tahitian moon sand in my 5g:

I have more small LR pieces that I am hoping will collect corraline, and some other corals on in my 32 gallon before transferring over. I figure instead of fragging my zoanthids etc., just put my LR next to the zoanthids in the main tank until they grow oever to the new rock, and then it will be transferred when ready.

12 JBJ DX, I have a Mexican Red Headed Goby. He is an incrediable fish. He'll watch me when I am around and comes out to greet me when I knock on the tank. In my opinion, you should not keep but one fish in this small of a system. It doesn't take much to start having problems.
