cycling my nano

Hey there guys.. Im pretty new to this and i just had a question

im cycling my tank right now. its a five gallon.

i was wondering how long i should cycle it and if i should turn on the light or not?

any suggestions or comments are totally welcomed! thanks!!

You need to test for ammonia, nitrite, amd nitrate to know when the tank has cycled. When ammonia and nitrite test at zero you need to do a waterchange if you have high nitrates and you're good to go.

Lights on or off is your call, I've cycled both ways.
