Electrical question

Hey all,

I want to rearrange come furniture in the living room. The cabinet I house my PFO MH ballast sits next to the tank. I want to move it about 6-8 feet away. Im thinking I read somewhere that the cord from the ballast can only run so long. Is this true? Anyone know how far? I've tried looking on the PFO website and cant find any stats.

Im sure there is a limit on how long you can extend it, but its much longer than you will need. PFO makes an extension that adds an extra eight feet to the MH socket cord.

Just make sure the gauge of wire you use is not too small for the amount of current the ballast pulls. If you use one too small you will make yourself a really neat heater.
