About how many GPH will a 1" overflow line handle?

Not so much the GPH you need to worry about it's the PSI the pipe can handle before bursting. Most pumps will give you the recomended pipe size needed for their product to work correctly.

My bad. I meant overflow not return.

Sorry cor the confusion. I would say upwards of 800 GPH. Go for a 900 GPH pump and if the overflow can't keep up just throttle back on the pump with a ball valve till you get a steady water level.

i would think that it could do like 1200 PGH, because my overflow can do 1200 with 2 u tubes and it has a 1 in (i think) hose thaat came with it.

1 in can do 1000-1200 GPH, not sure the exact # but if you get a pump that does 1200 gph @ 0ft you will be fine

I have a velocity T4 on my 90G & the 1 1in drain works fine
