It's been a while since I've posted . . . my fiance (we'll be married on the 16th of February) and I are became interested in re-starting a nano reef . . .So here are some pictures and descriptions of our progress:
As per the subject line . . . these are big pictures - at least 2 meg - broadband only!
This is our nano on the beginning of the 3rd week . . . . cleaning crew consisting of 2 snails and 10 hermit crabs are busy at work

Here is the Ghost/Blue Damsel that we have on the begining of the 5th week:

A fiesty little guy . . . we returned him to our LFS after he did his duty for our next inhabitants. . .

Two False Perculas and a Purple Tipped BTA . . . a stunningly beautiful invert . . . and two tank raised Clowns . . . they seem to be bonded as one of them (but not both) will spend the night in the BTA . . .
This lead me to my question: The Clowns are about 1 inch, and the BTA is about 5 inches or so in diameter. Only one of the clowns will spend the night - the dominant one.
Is this unhealthy? Should I be concerned?
Any help would be appreciated!

Bro
If you are going to upload pictures to big for the average person to view, at least clean the glass first.

Thanks for your response . . . my tank is in its 7th week and has been meticulously tested and wc'd. (8.3 ph, 0/0/0 for am/nitrite/nitrate and 2 gallons 1x to 2x per week) So far the BTA is doing fine as are the Clowns. Just rather curioius about their behavior, as one is 'sleeping' in the anemone at night and the other is choosing a low flow area to relax.

i love big pics, but i also like them to fit on the screen. the thermometer strip runs half the length of my screen.
sounds like the tank is doing very well.
the anemone is beutifull
dude, your pictures are gianormous. :D
I don't think that's a BTA. Not exactly sure what anenome it is though.
My dominant clown did the same to her mate for the first few days. I wouldn't worry.
That does not look like a BTA, Sebae maybe. I not sure if it is a good idea to put anemone is a tank that young. It will require a descent amount of light but I am not sure what your setup is like.

nice start. i hope that you have upgraded lighting, usually anemones need halides. i would not have put the anemone in that early...

I can't even look at pictures that big. It's just too hard to get an overall idea of what it looks like.
Just trying to help.

Thanks for the info guys . . . I did warn you about the size in the subject . . I personally like detailed pictures, but I guess my skill with vertical and horizontal scroll bars is some higher than most.
Sebae Purple Tips . . . hmm . . nice . . So far s/he seems happy and my lighting is standard 12 gallon JBJ DX Reef lighting - nothing added or taken away.

Well I applaude your efforts but you are trying to house one of the hardest anemones in the hobby. Reefers with years of experience have high mortality rates with these anemones. Anemones period are hard to keep and need established systems and much more intense lighting then you have. Most reefers wait at least a year before introducing an anemone to their system. 48 watts of PC lighting, i'm sorry to say, isn't even in the ballpark for what that anemone needs to live.
I tried an anemone myself as a newbie, in the very same tank and it died within a few weeks and polluted the whole tank. As a responsible reefer as I'm sure your trying to be, you need to take it back and give it a home it has a chance of surviving in.

just use small pictures to link to larger larger ones
I agree with reefwick, and also you need your tank to be set up for a year plus before you even think about getting an anemone. Looks like a sebae, definately hard, and the tank is probably to small for it as well. Don't want to be bearer of bad news but It would be best to take it back, wait around 6months-1yr and get a BTA.

I put a Sebae Anemone in my tank at 8 weeks and it has done fine. When I got it it was about 3 inches across. My tank is now 16 months old and it is now about 8 inches across. I did feed mine a silverside about once every 2 -3 weeks.
