I thought I'd drop in with my progress on my 10g reef. I've posted on NR.com, but unless you're username implies that you're some little reefer chick, no one will as much as look at the post.

So, I figured I'd drop a few pictures of my tank:

Full tank shot:

Some closeups of some of the corals/frags:

Thanks for the reply.

I had a 5.5g going for about 3 months that I switched over to a 10g. That then leaked after 2 weeks, so I had to switch to another 10g. That was less than a week ago.

I have a 96w Coralife Quad fixture over the tank.

Wow your tank looks great! How do you like your skimmer? I have a 10g and I'm looking for one. Do you have any pictures of the full set up?

Thanks. I've had good luck with most of the SPS I've tried so far. The Milliepora has nice polyp extension, you can see how nice and puffy the hydnophota gets from the picture, and the birds nest looks good as well. Since they were going well, I thought I'd try a little acro frag. It didn't work out so well. So, I know the limits of my lighting, and I'll stay within those limits now.

I do not dose anything at this time. I do a 20% water changes once a week. This keeps my calcium level in the range of 420-440ppm.

Chris

I've tried the Coralife Counter Current, and the Current USA Nano Fission skimmer. The Current USA Fission looked promising, but I think is only usable in certain applications. I use an AC500 fuge, and that is where the skimmer is placed. With the Current USA, I was unable to control the microbubbles it produced. I'm sure it would work fine in a sump where you could use baffles and bubble traps, but this was not possible with an AC500 fuge.

This forced me to go back to the Coralife Counter Current Skimmer. It's not the greatest skimmer in the world, but it pulled stuff out. My nitrates stay undetectable, so something is doing something right.

There's not much to see on a full setup pictures. Everything (fuge, ATO bottle, etc) is hidden behind the tank, which is sitting on a dresser. The interior of the tank is far more interesting :D
