Just wondering if anyone stayed with the stock pc lighting on the dx nano cube?

Is that sufficent for corals?

Im getting my tank sunday, and I plan to have soft corals.
I really like the "walls" a couple people have done, and I considering it also.

Thanks for the advice
Linn

Yeah I stayed with it. You can definitely keep corals..... take a look around this forum or the gallery and there are hundreds of dx's with corals. Soft corals will be more than happy in that tank.

You can keep some LPS in there, too. If you decide to upgrade the lighting, there are tons of good projects out there to follow.

i personally think that everybody should buy the 70w Mh retrofit, cuz u might want to do somthing different one day like having a clam or somthing that needs strong lighting requirements

Is anyone having any luck with the older 12 jbj with only 24 watts of light? I have it set up with freshwater for now but am looking to switch it over and keep some low light corals such as shrooms and zoos.

thanks in advance

I think the Stock lighting is great for a first tank, buy the time you want to do something crazy, you'll probably want a bigger custom tank anyway. Starting with the nanocube, you'll know exactly what you want out of your next tank.

Sure - you can keep softies. I even kept a candy cane in mine w/ 24 watts. It didn't show any growth with that lighting, but it seemed healty. If you want to upgrade, Chris at nanocustoms.com has a nice 2.24 upgrade kit.
