I got a aqua pod 12 gal a couple weeks ago. The first week everything was doing fine. Now when i leave on the bright light for a day, my rock and sands seem like it is getting brown like being burnt. The 50/50 light does fine. It has 2 set of light. What is wrong with it??

You probably have diatoms, an algae that's common with a new tank. Good flow and a few waterchanges and it usually goes away in a couple of weeks.

i agree i had the same problem when i set up my nano 24 DX everything tured a brown color for like a week i went and bought a turbo snail 2 astrea snails 2 black turbos and a margarita snail they cleaned it up in abt. a week every day or two i would dip my hand in and swirl the water up to stir it up it helped my rock finish curing faster and it pulled some of the brown algae off the rocks and sand. After that tho there was an outbreak of green algae i think it was much worse i went and got a mag-float cuz the snail could just not keep up it seemed aftre that pod and plants started groing just give it time everything has to cycle for like min of 4 weeks before you start getting a nice bio system going.

Yup it's normal, just give it time and keep up with the water changes :p

Indeed...water changes will help things out and don't overfeed, and also watch your photoperiod.
