Here is a full tank shot of my 10 gallon nano reef. It's not the most recent, it was taken on new years eve.

I'm happy I have finally got this tank in order. As of today all the parimeters are

PH-8.2
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0
Calcium-420
Phosphate-0 :D

As of now the inhabitants are

Ocellaris Clown
2 Emrald Crabs
25 Astrea Snails
Green Striped Mushroom
Hairy Mushroom
2 Unidentified Zoanthid polyps

Also I upgraded the penguin 100 HOB filter to a penguin 170-so the flow rate has gone from 25.3X to 32.3X

Sweet!

It looks like a pile of live rock in a 10 gallon fish tank but I am sure it is much more than that.

What are we going for here? Is this going to be a FOWLR? The powerheads need to be hidden behind the rockwork IMO.

The tank has potential, but in all honesty, all I see is a pile-o-rocks, and those rocks look like base rock. (been there, done the pile-o-rocks thing)

Give us some specs on the age of the tank, lighting, and future plans.

PC Carl? :D Whaddya think?

i actually like the rockwork... it kinda gives a look of a shallow water reef... just put small fish :)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! My plan for this tank is a zoanthid and mushroom tank with maybe a few other softies. The clown in there right now is the only inhabitant and will always be. Less bioload=good. I'd love to hide the powerheads behind the rocks, but i doubt I'd get good flow in the tank. The tank is skimmerless but I figured with one little clown the liverock should be enough filtration. Flow is provided by a microjet(73 GPH), a pen plax powerhead(80 GPH). Also I run carbon and phosguard in the penguin 170. More of a mini sump than a hang on filter :D. Lighting is just an incandecent fixture from wal-mart with 2x20 watt 6500K screw in florecent bulbs. i'm gonna replace them with coralife 50/50 bulbs later on in the future. The tank has been set up a little over 6 months now. It had a horrible hair algae breakout but It's fine now. i just let the snails do their jobs ;) . the tank seems to be progressing nicely though, I'll get a new full tank shot this weekend.

Post pics of your 80.

It seems like you are trying to call him out on something. I don't want to start anything, but are you just looking for an excuse to insult him? If not, I apologize for being out of line, but if you are, what's the point? He's just trying like the rest of us.

angelfishlover, I think it's coming along nicely. I like the rockscape, I know how hard it is in a ten gallon. Nice job on beating the HA too.

I don't think that there is such a thing as out of line. I don't own the board.

I see a 10 gallon tank with no signs of life other than a fish.

I thought this was just some kid who has a bare bone tank till I saw in his sig that he has a 80 gallon SPS reef. I would like to see pics of it just because I like sps.

Now normally when people have full blown reef tanks, they use frags to set up their nanos and stun us all with how quickly they have an awesome looking nano reef tank.

If you spend that uch time on a big tank and want a little box of rocks to support life thats fine with me. The simplicity is probably refreshing.

there ya go

looks like he has quite a bit of $$$ invested in this hobby, likes the rock pile look, and has a couple new tanks.

Look forward to seeing the progress.

angelfish, i'd see if you can pull the rocks forward a little on the ends...that way you can maybe get those PH's hidden...if you do that, and have the outlets facing towards the side glass the flow will be defelected and probably give you similar flow as you've got right now, without the PH's in view.

Carl & Suge,
damn, you guys are ruthless...give the kid a break, he's trying to get his tank's going.

Is that bowfront that carl posted his too?

Lighting is just an incandecent fixture from wal-mart with 2x20 watt 6500K screw in florecent bulbs. i'm gonna replace them with coralife 50/50 bulbs later on in the future.

I have 2 of the 20 watt Coralife 50/50 blubs in my hood, that just happens to be an incandecent fixture from wal-mart too lol (i got the Wal-Mart kit :D) Here is the pics with thoes 2 bulbes in it and the wal-mart hood, i really like thoes coralife blubs, they look really good. Be sure to get a peice of glass to put under the lightbublb though, because they can get damages if the saltwater hits them. I also put pics of the glass and coralife bulbs i have, i bought a glass top for a 10 gal and just used 1 peice of the glass. Well here you go hope the pics help you!!

Thats a very old FTS. The 80 is actually empty at the moment, I'm redoing the whole thing. I'm just working on my 10 gallon while my 80 is on hold. i still need about $250 to get the 80 up and running again.

Here are a few pics from today. Sorry the tank is a little cloudy, my clown goes crazy when I stick my hand in the tank.

Love the new rockwork! I think this tank's going to look pretty nice when you upgrade the lighting ... I especially like the "shelving" areas.
