Finally after two weeks of nothing, this morning I noticed a few aptasia mysteriously missing right next to my Calathra. :D Somehow they started on the very aptasia I was most concerned about. I guess that shows you have to sometimes be patient and give them a bit of time before they start doing their job.

For those who might follow suit with peppermint shrimp for aptasia control, just make sure you get the true Caribbean species as there also is a California species as well. Although I have no experience with these, I hear they don't eat aptasia or it is not their first choice. I think most already know not to buy the camel shrimp that many LFS will sell as peppermint too. Good luck and I hope this helps someone.

Some species of pepperments will eat SPS polyps. You just have to use extreme caution and verify that they are the correct carribbean species.

I picked up 4 from MidwestReefs.com and they took care of ALL my aptasia.
