This is my German spec nano setup for about 8 months, It has the filter chambers in the back of the tank in which I run a 10watt refugium light and a couple of filter pads along with some carbon every other week. I do 25 percent water changes every other week since I don't run a skimmer yet. I have had all the fish and star polyps since the first few months but resent additions include the xenia and LTA which were purchased a few weeks ago after I install my 24" NOVA t-5 light with retrofit reflectors install making a big differance compared to the 3 T-8 blubs I was running which were 2-10,000k and 1-blue. I run 3 pumps, each pump around 300l/h. Only changes I plan for the future is to remove the coral band and cardinal and get a second clown. prices here in Germany are pretty expensive and I haven't seen any internet companies that sell frags here. I am military and travel alot so I get to see alot of differant styles of running reef tanks. This tank will only have another two years of growing and then I'll have to start another tank- hopefully in Guam. Tell me what you think, And any improvements I should what to add. I'll be happy to answer any questions about the tanks I have seen here.

Very nice tank. I like the look of just a few corals and open spaces.

I'd suggest you add the second clown as soon as possible. The current one has probably already turned into a female and they become increasingly territorial the longer they're alone in the tank.

Is the front some type of acrylic frame ? Is it part of the tank or an add on ? I have a heck of a time keeping the silicone and corners clean. Looks like the frame would hide that.

the frame is part of the tank, the side windows are the same design, all original from the company, I think the tank is call bio orb? not to sure just saw it had potential. I would have more corals but I paid 40 for the xenia, and 65 for the star polyp, and around 60 for the LTA.

Where in Germany are you stationed? I was in Friedberg, north of Frankfurt, with the 1st Armored Division. I guess you are in the Navy since you're trying to PCS to Guam?

Nice tank btw :)

Airforce, near Kaisersalutern- lived in the Azores islands for 2 years and never though about setting up a tank there.

If I was going to stay in the Army, I would go back to Germany without hesitation. I miss my old unit and good times over there.

I like it! Very open aquascaping will give that LTA plenty of room to grow. I'll second Agu's suggestion about adding a second clown.

<------had a clarkii and an LTA and eventually I couldn't even stick my had in the tank because it would attack and draw blood.

That's funny, my clown already does that, minus the blood part. He wasn't even aggressive before this. He took to the LTA in about 20 min, got lucky we had 3 anemones in other tanks with clowns and never had them host, all tank raised though. Have to remove the coral band he keeps fighting with the clown.
