you are definately going to need a little bit more light. a 20g high tank is rather deep. i used to have 130w of PC over a 20g high which did "ok", but i eventually upgraded to MH anyways with alot better results.

but of course, it depends on what you want to keep as far as corals go...

I too change to MH from PC and is very content. There's no comparison between the intensity of PC vs. MH. It brings out the colors of corals especially zoas.

i only plan to keep the condy anemone, which will go in the top half of the tank. i might add a few low light corals like shrooms but nothing like sps or clams. does everything else dound ok though?

are there any other clowns that would be ok with the condy? i figured the clarkii would be the best, but he would have to be alone.

we have a maroon that goes with the condy but it is very rare to have them host in condys. while they dont need a lot of light I wouldnt get my hopes up about your clown hosting.

I know there is a chance that he might not host. If he doesnt, i will still have a nice anemone and a cool clown. I sure hope he does though.

I've decided to ditch the condy idea b/c this is my first tank and i wont be able to have any corals with a 1 foot nem. I'm going to go witha pair of small clowns, gsp, green hairy shrooms, a leather coral, and maybe a torch(sweeper tentacles though).

Thats a good idea. Would you consider a flower anemone?

ya, i think that would be pretty cool. even tho the clown probly wouldnt host it.

the anenomes gonna go where it wants to go. you could try to keep him in one spot, but its very highly unlikely that hes gonna stay there.

i have a bubble tip in a 20h. it stayed for 8 months in a nice spot, but now moved behind a rock... luckily not stining anything as it moved an inch or 2 in the right direction. im gonna take him out shortly here.

to those with MH on a 20, what is your setup and what have the results been? surfnvb7 especially?

slight threadjack, but hopefully this helps the original poster as well
