Can you use a jigsaw to cut the slots at the top of an overflow box, also what would be better holes or slots?

Yes you can use that to do that and I would say that slots are better. Good luck and it looks like you are ready for the 55

Thanks any help I can get is good help. I was going to build a DIY skimmer (looks real easy), but went and bought a used one on the 19th of DEC. I haven't recieved it yet. The guy promised it will go out Monday, hummm we will see. I hate getting ripped by a reefer.

Hope you get it and if not then we can build one and I have most of the stuff needed to build one. I do have few skimmers around the garage and basement but I like to build one and do DIY and improve what I have built before.

LOL, you still a young buck Mo, in your prime. I know what ya mean though. I tend to forget a lot since the operation. Feel like I'm 50, lol. I don't need a lot just enough to put these 3 sides together. I forgot to check if lowes had it, hence the forgetfulness see what I mean.

I think home depot might have it but not sure. I know Lowe's in my area does not carry it. Glass companies have it or they can get it for you. It should be less than $10 for a can, plastic bottle and needle looking thing on.

If you using a little of it then I can have a bottle of it with me. It does not take long for it to dry (almost instantly) and you can glue it when I get there (reminder is good)

how are you cutting the pieces, you dont want to cut them with a jigsaw, you need either a table saw or a router. the joints need to fit together with no gaps or it wont seal. if mo is going up to help you, then i can just give him mine and you can do it when he is there

Hey FishesRD... thanks that would be great, I would really appreciate it. I would just need enough to bond 2 pieces. The pieces where cut at lowes on some machine they have. Something like a giant size utility knife. They scored it like 30x's and it snaped right of. The pieces are 1/4" and seem pretty straight. The material is Lucite acrylic sheet 1/4". I found it in the scrap pile :)

Mo that , when you think you will be down?
