Just wonder which would be more practical a MH or PC for the following application.

- live rock, live sand, some live coral(not alot), 2 anemone's, 2 clownfish(T.R. Clarks), 2-3 sm gobies, 1 spider decorator crab, and some cleaner shrimps and crabs.

Depends on what corals. PC's are going to runa lot cheaper and may not heat your tank up as much, so you won't have to worry about a possible chiller. What type of corals are you looking into?

I've heard that the MH may be over kill and that it might burn out some corals ??????

ture or not?

Well, MH will definitely burn corals if they are either too intense, the corals are not acclimated to them correctly or the corals are lower ligt specimens and not used to them.

If you're just planning for Softies, LPS and lower light SPS/Clams go with PC's, it'll save you money. You can always upgrade later if you want.

I decided on the PC for my Pod because I think the tank isn't shallow enough, I've burned some corals in my 125 when I placed corals higher on my rockwork, the 125 is running 2X400MHs and 2X96PCs. I plan on upgrading the lighting in the Pod to about 120 or 200 to provide enough light for SPS and Clams.

I do have a quick question since I haven't received my system yet, does the hood come off?

Per my LFS and Current-USA the hood does come off. I am picking my 24g AP up this weekend.

can you take some pics of the packaging? Mine is being shipped to me by marineandreef.com, I've heard that the hood is difficult to take off.
