I have some hard to obtain Cross Hatch Triggers for sale. No shipping, local pick up in Long Island, NY only.

There are three Triggers that are for sale.

Two males are 9 inches from nose to tail at $225 each.
One female that is 7 inches from nose to tail at $175.

These triggers were imported from Hawaii on 1/5/06. One of the two males is starting to take prepared food. All are nice and hefty in size and weight.

Here are a few pics of a male and female that are in a holding tub:

Just an update, these CH triggers were supposed to come in at 6" for the males and 4" for the female and were for my different tanks. The reason they are up for sale is due to the sizes that they were actually shipped to me.

One male and the female is pending so for now, one male is still available.

Here are a few more pics of the three amigos:

Female:

Very nice fish. Should consider shipping. Alittle long in length for me at this point. Upgrading to a 6 ft tank soon.

its called a peppermint/candycane angelfish; very very rare and very newly described fish from very very deep waters

poknsnok

they are going to be hard to find at 4" You almost always see them around 7". Id jump all over them at 4"

pecan2phat
01/14/2006, 02:09 PM
Males are non- existent at 4".
They don't start the transformation until 5 to 6 inches.
I have a female that is 3.5 to 4 inches that I am keeping though.
Usually if there are 6 inch males available, they would most likely be scoffed up by justrarefish.com, marinecenter.com or atlantisaquarium.net and go for about 3 to 5 hundred dollars for the males alone.

waterfaller,
Those peppermint dwarf angels (Paracentropyge Boyeli) are so rare that when they do pop up at a wholesalers, they run $4k and up. Too rich for my blood.

i believe there are males that are 4 in. but it is very rare from what ive heard. ive seen one at a LFS in chicago, and there was a thread in one of the fish forums where a diver had just caught 2 small males. i have one of them coming next saturday. hopefully all goes well.

is the one male still available?

pecan2phat
01/29/2006, 07:46 PM
Yes he is.

The male is actually doing better now since some time has gone by. I've acclimated him to eat prepared frozen foods and since he came in with a little bit of ick, I have him in a hypo treatment for about 2.5 weeks now.
He's swimming around and has his full color vs when he first came in.

Hey guys not to sound ignorant, but what would you consider the minimum size for those triggers??? 100 gallon..plus Just wondering.
I agree those triggers are beautiful

jwalters103
01/31/2006, 09:30 PM
i would think closer to 200

pecan2phat
01/31/2006, 11:02 PM
I would say that the minimum would be 6'x2'x2' swimming area.

The pair that I sold went into a 6'x4'x2.5' display.

Thread bump :D

The male CH is looking really good. Eats like a piggy and colors are tremendous.
Seems like the hypo treatment has worked well. I am getting ready to bring the tank back up to NSW levels next week and will also most likely bring the CH to an over priced LFS store. I spoke to the manager there cause I saw that they had a large female CH for sale and asked if they were interested in my male. They offered me $195 as this is the price that they pay their wholesaler. I am assuming that the only reason why they offered me that amount is because their wholesalers did not have any males or you know how it goes when selling fish to a retail store.
My eyes kind of popped when I saw their price tag on the female, $699!
If they happen to obtain my male, I'm sure they will ask $899!

So if anyone local is interested before say 2/25/06, I would let him go for the same $195.

Thanks.

I would take him if you shipped to 76248.

Thanks

02/14/2006, 11:05 PM
Thanks for the offer blue20051, but it's a ton easier for me just to bring him into the LFS than to pack and ship him.

Ok, Good luck with the triggers!! I wished they were mine. Maybe someday i'll get one in my tank.

flyingace2005
02/15/2006, 09:36 PM
Awesome fish! Please don't take them to the LFS. Especially when they are just trying to rip you off. I would tell him you want at least 500 for it if he is selling the female for $699.

pecan2phat
02/15/2006, 11:24 PM
LFS would never give you more than what their wholesale price is and even then, they would only give you that if it was something that they wanted and knew that they could sell for a nice profit.

Any other time, they would give you credit on a fraction of even their wholesale price just to keep you as a customer.

BlackOnyx
02/20/2006, 12:42 AM
they should give you more then the wholesaler.

a) no shipping
b) no stress
c) they can see it's a quality specimen before buying

tell them to give them what you paid

Hey thanks guys, the last male I had went to Atlantis Marine World. It's an Aquarium that we have out here in Riverhead, NY.
He'll be swimming in a 20,000 gallon reef tank. I'm sure he'll be happy.

crosshatches aren't 195.00 wholesale...more like 100-150....the females are generally 65-90 dollars. At least at Segrest Farms and other wholesalers I have purchased from/visited

pecan2phat
03/08/2006, 11:35 AM
The $195 was what the LFS pulled up on his pricing sheet while I was standing there.

Sold a pair early on and the last mail went to Atlantis Marine World as stated in the above post.

Thanks.
