Here's some older pics of mine. I've added a few things since and I'm sure some things have died.

I am. I currently have a ushio 175watt 10k bulb. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 250 20k for a different look.

impur, thank you for the thread. it's exactly what i was thinking of doing.

i currently have an external overflow and a sump that i used for my old 75g. but the only problem i had with it was how the water would overflow from the sump everytime there was a blackout. did you have any similar problems? is there a way to prevent it?

Right now the only fish is a midas blenny...two hermits, and a ton of breeding mini turbos and stomatella (sp) snails..

As far as lighting..I originally bought a 250W MH, but quickly realized I would need a chiller to run it in the valley here...right now I've got a 2x24 T-5 and a 55W PC on it, but will be getting another 4x24w t-5 retro in the next month or two.

Lower the water level in the sump?

You bet! Hope it helps out some.

I had the same problem in the beginning. Remember to put an anti-syphon hole in your return lines. Also lowering the water level in the last chamber of your sump works. In the event of a power outage my sump will fill to the brim, but does not overflow. It took some trial and error to get the level set perfect in my sump. You could also put check valves on the returns to limit the amount of water that goes back to the sump.
