I have had such bad luck trying to keep Scotts Fairy Wrasses alive. I've probably had 5 different S.F. Wrasses and all have died either from ich or starving to death. I have many other wrasses in my 300 gallon reef tank and they have done well. I have tried different foods, but all they seem to eat is mysis shrimp. I have soaked the food in zoe, and other suppliments but nothing seems to work. I have one now, and I have had it for about a month. It eats, but again seems to be wasteing away. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just lost mine a couple of days ago. Same thing here. It just wasted away. I feed every day a mixture of food and it ate like a pig. A very active fish, but it just got skinnier and skinnier.

Maybe it has internal parasites.
I know these are not aquacultured, so they have to come from the wild, and WC fish always have parasites.
Metradinazole soaked fish food will work very well to rid the fish of parasites.
I would not have that many wrasse in a tank, they will pick on each other and cause stress - disease.
Is your tank a 125g or a 300g saltwater111 ??

Who sells this Metradinazole? And is it a pellet or flake type food?

Ummm most of your "bigger" stores have it. It comes in powder form. You just add some RO to a dose of the med, then a pinch of flakes or mysis and let it soak for 5 mins then feed. Its safe for everything to eat so do not worry about coral or inverts.
It's very important that you get your fish eating a variety of foods. Stay away from frozen mysis and brine as an everyday food.
I always reccomend trying out spectrum pellets, and any of the Ocean Nutrition flakes, especially formula #2.
Always offer Nori, your tangs and rabbit fish and other algatarians will love you for it. Brine is hard on their bellies, even tho they love to eat it.

Here's an update on my Lineauts that was losing weight like my scotts wrasse. I feed it Metradinazole for 3 or 4 days and now it has a fat belly and putting his weight back on. So anyone with this problem give it a shot.

Word of warning. When they are healthy they are jumpers. I lost two and I still cannot figure out how the second one got out.

I'm just giving up on the fish. I have a Leopard Wrasse, Lineaus Wrasse Male and Female as well as other wrasses and they do just fine together. My tank is 266 gallon so there are plenty of hiding places.
Thanks for the info.
