Berlin Turbo (sump) runs a muck !

Well this is strange ( I think) Last night, as is my custom, I gave my system a 2 minute "once over" I notice some water on the floor , quite a bit of water, also saw that my 2 liter soda bottle waste bucket was full and leaking, I just emptyied the thing the night before. I look in the sump and I see the skimmer producing tons and tons of very wet foam. I have no idea why , I did not use any additives or supplements no deaths no water changes no nothing. I could see no visible blockage or kinked feeds or tubes. I shut the thing down took it all apart and cleaned it , still no visible causes. Put it all back together and
now it won't start. The unit is only 4.5 weeks old and I was having fairly good luck with it , till now.

any thoughts ? why it would mysteriously start pouring out water.
and now why it won't start ? Did the pump fry?
