I recently setup a 90gal tank and added two blue chromis. They seemed to get along ok (the big one would chase the small one but not too much). I just added a third blue chromis that's about the same size as the big one. The big one continues to chases and nibble at the new one. I think the new one is stressed as all he does is hide and breathes heavy. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I afraid the new addition isn't going to live if this keeps up.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

From what i've read, chromis are supposed to be in odd numbered sets. I have 3 myself, and they went through the same behavior when they were first in the tank. I had one that hid all the time also. I believe its their way of establishing dominance and a hierarchy in their group. After a few weeks, mine all seem to be fine now, just give them time to work out their pecking order.

As PiNaPLe said they should be introduced into the tank in odd numbers.
