Noob question: what are pods? copapods, aquapods etc..

"Pods" encompas a whole range of tiny crustaceans - copepods, amphipods, isopods. With the exeption of two types of isopods, all other pods are harmelss reef janitors. HTH some. Dr. Ron's site is down so I can't link you to his articles on pods, which is probably a good thing, because when I link those you can plan on spending several hours reading up on "pods".

LOL, amphipods, copepods, I think isopods even. Little critters, smaller than ants, that swim, climb around on your rocks. Mostly Nocturnal.
