The Driveway Heat is closer in specs to Turbo Calcium products on the market, FWIW.

is that good or bad?

You use less of it, so it goes further. HD has 50lb bags for $15.

As of 2 weeks ago, the home depot on Randall only has Heat. It's in the far rear right corner of the inside garden dept. I mixed up a batch and kept it a little weak to be safe. It dissolved very clean. So far so good.

What is it used for (still a newbie)?

It's Calcium Cloride. It can be used to make Randy's mix:

yea, i love that mix. so much cheaper than the b-ionic 2 part. i have been using it for a little bit now and everything is great. i got a huge bag of the bakeing poweder ast sams for 4. and the heat at lowes/HD for 17.00 and the epsom salts at walmart for 1. something... then just use milk jugs to mix it in.

I've been using old 5 gal salt buckets. Add a cordless drill with an old hanger in the chuck to mix it and I'm off and running. It's currently the way to go for me. Including sumps, I have about 800 gal to dose. I like B-ionic, but could you imagine the cost? Ouch.

I picked up a 50 pound bag of prestone heat from HP for 15.00 some dollars. Its cheaper than LOWES on Randall LITH, IL I have mixed Randys three part additive and ready to use it.

Hi AJ,

Remind me to compare notes when we get together. Thus far, I'm just concerned about the Epsom Salts and getting a complete mix of trace elements.

Later,

OK.....we can figure it out. This is my fist time using the 3 part mix. I have not even began to use my epsom salt mixture for the magnesiam yet. Keep in mind that water changes does help with replacing the trace elements.
