Well I've gotten the itch for more coral recently, so when is the next swap around here?

It should be the Cleveland Swap unless another Ohio club decides to randomly jump the gun.

Yeah, Cleveland should be around March if everything goes as scheduled... At least that's typically when it is.

gotta love swaps! last year cincinatti and cleveland were in the same weekend. but since cincy already had thiers hollbacks right.....i think lol.
swaps are too much fun to only have a few a year. theres never a shortage in turn out. why not have them more frequently?

takes time for corals to grow out. if there are too many then eventually the number attending would decrease and selection would not be as good. and they wouldn't be as great in the long run.

You could have 4 swaps a year and have great turn out. Think of the people that could not make the one last year. Due to work, weddings and so on.

I bet there are some vendors that would like to do. They always get new stuff in from the suppliers to restock what the sell. Have some great raffles like last year. Plus there may be more individuals that would like to trade off some stuff because they don't have extra tank to hold corals till next swap.

We have a good schedule having two a year (one in Cleveland, and one here). I think the fact that they are only twice a year is what keeps the interest.

Look at the reptile swap in Columbus. It used to have great turnouts, with venders and buyers from all over coming here. Now its the same venders, and the same people all the time, from what I hear. The couple times I have been to it, thats what I saw.

I also don't think the raffles would be as good either if we were asking venders twice as often to donate. We are very fortunate they have been so generous to us twice a year. :)

Both the CORA and C-SEA swaps have been great successes. I think building on the current swaps with speakers, a dinner/gathering the night before for anyone coming in early, etc. is a better plan than trying to hold additional swaps.

Officers and committee members of both clubs.........my hat is off to you. Its gotta be a circus getting one of these planned. You have all done a great job.

You could always do a mini swap at someones house. One of ourmemebers did one one and it was really nice. Took a 4 hour block out of a Sunday afternoon, had people RSVP him here on line and after he had a dozen or so lined up everyone showed up at his place with thier trades and cash of course and swapped frags, told lies, and had a good time. It was alot of fun and scratched that frag swap itch.....at least for me it did.

on the reptile show there is really no one that runs it that really wants to get anything going or try and improve it either.

Zeppelin, true with the raffles never thought about that. The last swap was great.

I think biggest problem is waiting around for the Columbus swap to come up.

what about cora having 2 swaps a year? dont get me wrong i have no idea what goes into planning a swap but 2 a year doesnt sound outrageous to me.
plus itd give people the oppurtunity to catch a swap when they couldnt make the first one. plus thatd still give plenty of time to grow out and frag.
theyre just so much fun and waiting and waiting for the next one to come around sucks.
DOODY- link isnt working for me.

I have to agree with szwab, I think personally 2 major swaps a year in the area is enough and if you have too many it just waters them down. But that is just my 2 cents.

Yeah I do! However, I'd rather get it from a local member at the swap. I don't like getting corals shipped to me when it's cold out. Plus, it costs money man.

Santa got me an acan lord, green sinulara, a lawnmower blenny, and an alevapora:D
