I did a search and didnt find any posts within the past year on this fish.

I was wondering if anyone has kept this fish and what they think of it. I particualarly would like to hear from the guys who have been keeping htis fish for many years.

I kepy one in a FO years ago. He was really shy, but was an easy fish to keep. Its my understanding that I probably got a heathy speciman.

Thanks guys.

criccio, do you have any corals, particullarly small soft polyps in your tank?

Its my understanding that they are a little more prone to pick at certain polyps than other centropyge species.

I have some zoas and colt corals and it doesn't bother them. If you're ordering one online lmk, because I was going to pull mine so I can put in a golden dwarf instead.

Mine never bothered any soft or hard corals while i had it. It was very shy too until the introduction of a larger Flame Angel. Once i added the Flame it was out in the open alot more and the two cruised the tank side by side. It didnt really have a personality like some fish do but overall i like mine.

I kept a C. Nox in a 125 mixed reef a few years ago....never touched anything, even though there were a few clams and 2 open brains, which seem to be one of the most often eaten corals. IMO the Lemonpeel, Eiblii, and others are way more likely coral eaters from the Centropyge genus. Just my experience...

I kept mine for a long time in a Reef Tank full of frags. Mine never bothered any coral or other fish. It was more interested in me (feeding time) and got to be really nice looking (became very dark). But one one day I discovered it was gone (couldn't find it anywhere). May have gone carpet surfing and never returned!
