I just got a frag from a fellow reefer and they are just absolutely stunning! They have the same color as the sunset monti and look out of this world. Does anyone know if these zoos have a name associated with them?

If I understand the differences correctly, those are Zoanthids, they share a mat. They also look pretty bleached out, though that may just be their color.... either way, they are/will be pretty :)

heya!

there are a lot of really similar 'watermelon' style zoas out there - some show lines more than others, some have really 'solid' bodies, some have 'greener' or 'yellower' or 'whiter' eyes than others. from the looks of it, they're in the watermellon 'family' perhaps?

They will be nice zoos, but they look bleached right now.

Normally when people say a zoa colony is bleached it is because there is a lot of white or clear color in the zoa. Since your zoas are so light in color they seem to be regaining their true colors. I guess time, or some history on if this is their actual color will tell the truth.

Personally, I look forward to more pics. They look nice.

Palythoas have alternating tentacles/eyelashes/skirts, whatever you prefer. I agree with the fact the there bleached, but only a little bit. I think your going to have a nice colony on your hand shortly. What kind of light and placement were they getting in the tank that you got them from?

I think they look fine. Welcome to the dark zoanthid side.

I think those are sweet or gonna be sweet if they are bleached and color up... Hard to out do the beauty of the Interruptus though, how are they doing Maximus?
