This makes sense right...

PH in refugium 8.25-8.5
PH in sump 8.2-8.35

I've been dosing with limewater for about a year now and have struggled to keep the PH from going to high. Usually it runs 8.25 first thing in the morning and climbs to 8.5 by the end of the day. I had to move my PH probe out of it's usual location, the refugium, and place it in the sump. Wow, what a difference. I was surprised to see such a change in readings and stability in PH.

Yes, that is expected. I've seen it myself. The photosynthesizing macroalgae use up CO2 and raise the pH. The rise depends on the flow rate and the amount of photosynthesis.

Well I'm a bit relieved to see a more ideal ph level :)
Thanks
