Hello all!

I've had my little percula clown for about 17 months now (he was my first saltwater fish). The only thing this fella has ever shown an interest in is the powerhead, this is where he sleeps...right on top. He will defend it too. Anyway, about 4 months ago I purchased a nice rock with a bunch of majano anemones hitchhikking on it. Since then I have destroyed any that have strayed off "their" rock, but the ones that have stayed put are welcome in my tank. I think they look rather cool to be honest. To make a long story short, I was watching the tank the other day when I noticed the clown swimming right through the largest of the anemones, brushing up against several others and then tugging on the tentacles of one. Is this the fish getting ready to "host" with the anemone? I'm so surprised with this.....:eek2:

BTW, majano anemones are considered pests, just like aiptasia's.

This isn't my picture, this was from another thread....

yes i believe your clown has found or is testing them for what suits him. There are many corals that serve as anemone surrogates, even powerheads ;)
