OK. I have read a million posts about the pump size people are using in their sump. A Mag 12 on a 55 gallon sounds great to many readers. The people that I believe to be more knowledgeable (Melev's Reef, etc) recommend 5 to 10 time the tank volume per hour threw the sump. I have tried it both ways and the low volume appears better. If you need more circulation use a closed loop or power heads. What flow rates, estimating for head loss, do you use in you tanks?? Thanks. R

I'e got a Mag 9.5 on my 125g with a 46g sump........With the head loss calculator I'm gettin around 650-700gph flow which is 5X's turnover. It works great and I get no micro bubbles at all.

I've also got 2 Seio 1500's in the display tank for extra flow.
