Is this Aquamend epoxy putty ok for applying underwater? I just wanted to make sure before using it on some frags I got.

Thanks.

I guess you got it HD. That's what I've been using for some time. Green with whitish core.

Oh... it will work under water but it's tough to do that way. Most times I only use it to make a superglue gel samich outside the tank :) When kneaded it I try to wear gloves or use a plastic bag so I don't get the stench all over my hands. Then change gloves to handle the coral.

it's safe. u ever buy the brand from the lfs? it's the same green/white color, consistency and smell. same stuff.

i like letting it sit out of the water for a minute or so after i mix it before i put it in the tank. if it put it in right away my skimmer gets a little crazy.

That is what I use as well. It does not work well underwater as far as holding anything in place unless you have gravity helping you in my experience. I like to let it sit out of water for a couple of minutes and then attach the frag. It works best with small frags and become pretty permanent in about an hour.

I don't know if it is reef safe or not, but I have been using it for almost three years with no noticable ill effects.

:O Fish abuse Call protective services. Feed that poor thing.

Just because you want to work out and look all Nicole Richie, doesnt mean your tang wants too. Give him meat with those flakes. :P

Judging from the color/consistency descriptions, sounds like the same stuff 'marine putty' by Devcon which is also reef safe. I just wish it was tackier under water, doesn't really stick to stuff you want.
