I recieved this rock initially as a ricordea rock. IT was covered with them. Well they all dissapeared and this coral was underneath. It has grown 4x's it's starting size. I've looked in books, online and can not figure what it is. Much help would be appreciated. An ID or even pointing me in the right direction.

Here are the Pictures (http://www.turningpointetech.com/test.htm)
Thanks

Its not Goniopora - probably Porites which is very common on rock. Was this rock from someones tank with Ricordea grown on it, or was it from a wild source and if so, was it Caribbean aquacultured rock or Indo-Pacific?

Yea.... I didnt think so either since i have a ton of it that lived through shipping on Live Rock but I am no expert, so i waited for one!

The stuff i have looks identical to this and it came on Fiji LR.

Wouldnt it be nice though, if goniopora was that hardy?!?!

I could be WAY off but it looks like a galaxia to me... I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks for the reply. This rock was from the Indo-Pacific region, grown wild.

Here are some pics of Porites from my Fiji LR. I have a mix of Fiji and Tonga. The Tonga was pretty devoid of life. If i had it to do over i wouldn't have gotten any, although the shapes aren't bad.
