Hi Everyone!

I have been "cycling" my new 29gal. I have also noted a temp increase because of the lights... I know I need to engineer something with some small fans and a modified canopy, but it made me think of something: What would the effect be if I broke my 12 hour day into some other fragment... say 2 six hour periods (separated by an hour or two for cool down)... OR? how about on three off two, on three off two, on three off two, on three off two, then off four for night...

I am not familiar with the duration of light/dark cycles on many marine organisms. Does anyone have any suggestions about light cycling (other then on 12 off 12)? If you think I should just modify the canopy, then fair enough!

Thanks so much,
Chris

12hrs is a long time, I run my lights 6hrs a day total. I do not think 2 seperate photoperiods will be good(depends whats in your tank). If you have multiple lights, maybe just stagger the on/off times of each one. Fans are a smart investment. Good luck.
