what to do when your power goes out it has only been out for an hour im at familys house

Scoop out water and pour it back in the tank. If there's a sump scoop it out of the sump and pour it in the main tank. If you have HOB filters pour some in the filters.

Repeat the above at least every 30 minutes or less until power is restored.

call the power company and pray :D
thats why i have a couple of these around. http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_air_pumps_hagen_battery_operated.asp?CartId= keeps some flow in the tank anyway. other than getting a generator thats about all you can do.

battery power airator...I've had 100s of customers tell me that all/most of their livestock survived the 1-2 week power outtages around here simply on an airator and air stone.

Then i've had 100s of customers tell me that they lost everything and they did nothing.

OK, so airators are good ideas, but what about the temp? If the power goes out for a few of hrs, the temp will drop is this not a problem. Or how cold is too cold?
