Got two and the flow is great.

But I can't seem to get them started after disconnecting the power to feed the corals?

Any tips? I've beat on it and can feel that it is trying to start. I still don't know what that little knob on the back is for.

I've unplugged it for now fearing I'd wear out the motor/magnet - that whole "should be moving and isn't" can't be good.

thanks in advance

The little blue knob is for air flow control. Open it to insert bubbles (which you probably don't want to do). You shouldn't have to disassemble the unit to get it started again; but if necessary, I'd check the turbine impellar is spinning freely. But first ...simply try plugging and unplugging a few times. You might also want to consider just turning your skimmer off when feeding and leave these pwr heads running. They're decent, but finicky sometimes after a power outage or frequent stopping. I only stop mine to clean them.

How long have you had it? Have you ever cleaned it. May want to try soaking it in a vinagear and water mix. ( Don't soak the suction cups!!!)

The ceramic shaft gets a very light build up of calcium on it and makes the impeller hard to turn. Scrape it or soak it in white vinegar and it'll be good as new.

ive got seios in my tank.. the smaller 820 hasnt given me any grief.. the 1100 however i need to pull on the impeller a bit after having the power go out or unplugging.

Thanks again for the tips. It is a week old so I don't think it could be dirty/coralline.

I had a spare one laying around and am using that.
