I HAVE A 26 GAL BOW FRONT.....IS A 20LB BAG OF SAND SUFFICIENT FOR A SAND BASE? OR DO I NEED MORE?

Depends on how deep you want it .........

20 lbs bag should be good for a 26 gallon tank. I would go for a 2-3'' sandbed.

btw, why all the caps today? :D

For aesthetic purposes (looks) only, a 1/2" to 1" bed is fine. To get the denitrifying properties out of a sand bed, it must be at least 4-6" deep. Personally, I have just enough sand to barely cover the bottom of my tank for looks only. However, it's a matter of personal preference. There is no "perfect depth" so to speak.

Agreed with K9, either 1/2 inch to 1 inch, or 4-6' for a DSB.

You can't do a DSB with "regular" sand.

can't say much about the regular sand part but a DSB will not work in that small of a tank. so i would stick with just 1-2 inches
