On a 20 long would you use a sump or not?

Without it I'm looking at hanging an Aqua C Remora with skimmer box, 2 maxijet 1200's and hiding the heater in the skimmer.
With a sump I still need to hang a LifeReef overflow and powerheads.

I'm currently doing a 20L as well as a grow out ank. I am doing a 10g sump and a closed loop system on it. Best to dso it now and be a little overkill than to not do it and regret it later.

I would sump it, use as big of one as you can, bigger then the main display if you can. Drill the 20L and add a plumbed sump, if you use a big tank like another 20L or bigger partition it for a refugium.

It's not my own experience but a friend of mine has a 15-gallon tank that was plagued by enormous algae growth. When he recently...about two months ago...set up a sump/refugium in a 10-gallon tank, it very quickly resolved that algae problem that had been there for almost two years.

You could also do a hang on back like a CPR, I love my CPR.

A sump will help you to increase the total water volume. The larger the volume, the more stable the parameters will be.
