Thank you!! :)

Actually, no it is not. It has been wedged together. It seems very sturdy and I've not had any rock slides. (of course now I've probably jinxed myself)

Thanks guys... They all look good. Any advise on Live Rock? My LFS advice me to go with a fish only tank. However, it seams like everyone prefers Live Rock over any other rock. Any inputs???

^^

thanks for the compliment. im sorry i should have made one thing a little clearer. the tank was set up for over a year. the pic is a couple of months old. ill try and get some new shots, but everything is basically the same as the pic.

no real secrets in my tank. i go for lots of waterflow, lots of wet skimming, and lots of light. i think some people may think ive gone a little overboard, but it affords me a little coushin on other things that i lack.

i run a standard (not mega-flow) corner style AGA RR 75.

lighting:
currently im running dual 250w XMs. one is a 15k, the other a 20k.
i also run 4 - 110w VHOs. one daylight, one 50/50, and 2 actinic.

filtration:
_the key, IMO, is 180lbs of quality LR and 150lbs+ of quality sand. i have 50lbs of TBS LR, in which the life does tons of filtration. there are bivalves that constantly filter the water and tons of detrivores and scavengers that came as hitchhikers on that LR. the balance of my rock comes from older established tanks (including my previous 29 i upgraded from) some aging back to almost 11 years old. the display sand was regular aragonite mix topped off with 25 pounds of TBS LS, which IMO is second to none. the diversity of SB life really enhances the effectiveness of my sand bed. i also have ~50 lbs of LS in my refugium which is a mix of collected LS from local (and not so local) reefers with nice established SBs.
_these two things in combination with my Deltec MC500 (rated for 170gallon system) really keep water quality up, with minimal interaction from me.
_the skimmer and refugium are located in a 30 gallon sump which adds a bit of volume to the 75 also.

water flow:
this is another area where i have what some would consider a rediculous amount. i run dual SEIO 1500s (@1500gph ea), along wiht dual MJ1200s (@300gph ea), and my return pump is a surge 7500 (@ ~800 gph after head loss). if you include the skimmer pump to this im pushing almost 5000gph. without it im pushing 4400, just in the display. needless to say i have little to no dead zone in my tank. i think not having detritus settle is a big advantage of high flow. also having the proper clean up animals (not just snails, but worms, pods, etc...) really keep my tank nice and clean.

as far as dosing i dont like to interfere a lot. i like the hands off approach where ever i can use it. with all of the flow and light i have, i get quite a bit of evap (~2 gallons a day). i top off with kalkwasser on every top off to keep my alkalinity, calcium, and pH where i want them. ive been doing this method for quite a while and i rarely even test for those levels any more.

ive got to run for now, but if i missed anything or need to clarify anything please LMK. id be more than happy to provide more pics if any one is interested in my sump or anything else.
