:mad2: Anyone have any idea on how to get rid of these, I have so much water coming in with 4 drains that the micro's are getting all the way across the sump & coming out the returns.

try putting a foam block between the baffles before your return you can find some at MS or Andys not sure on Beldts this is my last line of defense for micro bubbles.

dennis, ill try that, thinking i got way 2 much coming in, eco site says 1200 gph max & i got 3550 going out so i guess thats what is coming in or close 2 it. thinking of maybe adding a megaflow 4 sump with live rock no bioballs & splitting the drains between the 2.

what model is the asm?

chadfarmer

with that sump either the bio balls stop the bubbles or you have to slow down the water

A sponge block is about the only way you're going to fix that is that style of sump. Typically you'd want 2 or 3 baffles minimum with that kind of flow....

kurt ASM-G2 you would need a custom job, hook up with kent to build you one then buy about 4 recirc needle wheel pumps for it.

try this and its cheap I use quilting bunting you get at michaels about 20% cost of fiber filter

put it after the plant chamber at that baffle. Bubbles gone

the nice part about the sponge block though is you can keep reusing it. I ring it out in a bucket of saltwater every water change.

There is an area in Michaels (probably walmart and target also) in the sewing department. There is bags of stuff that you use to fill dolls, pillows, etc that is exactly the same stuff as we buy as filters at a fraction of the cost

Micro's gone, tried the sponge block, 4 to be exact, still getting them so i went ahead & bought a 2nd sump from Beldt's today (chris thanks for the great deal) & split the drains & now no bubbles:rollface:

Heh- I was going to say that for what you prolly paid for the ecosystem you wouldn't go with another sump but heck...whatever works! I forgot about the quilting bunting- That stuff works really well and it's cheap to boot....Glad to see you got it squared away....micro bubbles are annoying!

just added a 2nd kept the ecosystem, added a mega flow 4 sump its really quiet & has a nice media drawer for floss/carbon or whatever. & gives me another place for a protein skimmer.
