Hey, I want to get in to the saltwater aspect of this hobby. I want to know what a good starter tank would be. What would I need? I have a tank and I want to make it FOWLR. Tell me what i would need for that.

Thanks......

Tell us the fish you'd like to have, and then someone can suggest a tank.

Hi PlayO
[welcome]

See if The New Tank Thread (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=239848) helps.

All of the friends that I have encouraged into the hobby have started with a 20G "high" tank (~$25). For lights I usually suggest 2 x 24" VHO's, one 10,000K and one Actinic. This size is not too big that it is expensive for the setup, and not so small that it is touchy. You can keep 1 to 3 fish in it depending upon what they are and when you are ready to upgrade to a larger size, you can keep it as a quarantine tank. With that light setup, you will be able to keep some lower light corals too.

well i wanted to have a sw tank, got a free 55 with a stand, then thought that was to small, went to the lfs to look at a 75, and came home with a 125!
