Hey I have a question, I am keeping a 75 gallon soft tank....I about 5 months ago go Metal Halide lighting....(175watts)(yes not needed for softies but I figured why not get the high end lighting anyway) What I found odd and kind of destrought are my red mushrooms have never been the same....they've stopped reproducing and are smaller than they were....they are alive but I do not believe "Flourishing". The rest of my softies are doing great, but not those red mushrooms any idea why?

(Parameters-> Temp 76 Ammonia, etc... all zero... Salinity 1. 025)

Oh and another quick note....I have these small clove like poylps basically reproducing everywhere...as in....the sand bed rocks, etc...this shouldn't be a problem?)

Thanks In Advance

mushrooms don't like alot of light like alot of softies. if you could try shading them.

Keep them on the bottom and not directly under a reflector and they should do better.

I agree keep at the bottom, maybe shade under some rock.

I've hightened my halides for lower light penetration....hopefully it will help since those mushrooms were near the bottom already.

you could also put a piece of screen (like from a screen door) and reduce the light that way.
