is plaster sand reef safe?

went to home depot the other day and has bags of plaster sand. looks like sand from the beach, are they the same? can i use it in my tank?

If it's silica sand, it's probably safe. Do you have any information on the exact product?

I used the #30 silica sand from Oldcastle. Looks just like the sand from the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico. some use the play sand, but I like the finer texture of the #30
