I found this guy swimming around as I was cleaning my LR.
Any idea what he is?
He looks like a SW version of a cockroach. He was swimming all over the place nonstop until I gave him some rubble to climb on.

How big is it? I'd assume it's some sort of pod, but you can ask Dr. Ron Shimek in his forum. I'm sure he could tell you what it is.

It's very small.
1/4" at most.

It looks like some kind of Isopod.

I gotta agree, from that picture, a parasitic isopod.. Nasty little buggers..

Do be careful too, if you pick him up with your hand, he can bite and bite hard!

Here is a second pick that gives more detail.

I should have flushed this guy when I had the chance.
It'll will just have to wait until next time.

that looks pretty close to a Cirolanid Isopod (the bad one). either that or a female Sphaeromatid Isopod (not bad one). if it is a Cirolanid, you need to remove him. be very careful and wear some good rubber gloves! they will attack you, not only bite but dig under the skin and make a new home.

heres an article on Isopods: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-05/rs/index.php
