Have you had any of these pumps fail?

I am doing a pump analysis for an engineering economics course I am taking, and need input from users to get an estimate on the average life of a few pumps.

If you have used the following pumps:

Mag 7
Rio 1700
Rio 2100
Rio 12HF
Via Aqua 2600

Could you tell me how long (in months) before they failed?

I'm also interested in whether or not the failure was catastrophic (did your whole tank crash because of it?).

mag 7 - still running
rio 1700 - impeller deformmed after 1.2 years
rio 2100 - running but makes a lot of vibration noise (waiting for it to break)
rio 12hf - unknown but my rio 32hf died within 1 year
via aqua 2600 - unknown...

All pumps were started at the same time in 2002 when I first started up my reef tank.

Mag 7 would freeze up all the time when the power was cut (starting after 3 months). I had the same problem with the Mag 12's. I hate em.

I ran a Rio 2100 for about 2-3 years, it burned up and spewed its guts into the tank. I was almost done curing a new tank for an upgrade so I lucked out.
